Posted on Sun Nov 18th, 2018 @ 3:15pm by Captain Enalia Telvan

Hello again everyone! It’s that time again when awards are complete for both Fleet and Ship level and boy howdy to we have a lot of them for you as a way to show our appreciation for all your efforts! Overall we have been incredibly pleased to see that everyone is working together, taking initiative and crafting some very compelling and creative stories, and the awards this month reflect that. We’re glad you are here, and it shows in your writing. Thank you for all you do, so let's get to our way of showing you those thanks - the awards!

-=Fleet Level Awards=-

- Area 51 Gold Medal
This is based on post count and average posts per user- a pure numbers game versus other sims in our Task Force. Considering that there are some powerhouse sims that put out well more than you might expect, for us to have gotten gold two months in a row is unprecedented. Regulations say that we can’t get it a third month in a row, but if we can force their hand and get a tie for gold next month, I’ll consider it a win. So far, we’re on track for that so let’s keep up the spectacular work everyone!

- TGCO Award of Merit
This is an award handed out by the Task Group Commander based on individual merit versus other sims in our Task Group. There’s no set criteria other than ‘Impress the TFCO more than the other sims for the month’, which we have done consistently since the relaunch. For something that is theoretically arbitrary, this is normally hard to get, which just shows just how amazing everyone is doing and how their contributions to the sim are making it great!

- Writer of the Month: Lieutenant JG Melanie Dox
Lieutenant Junior Grade Dox has shown remarkable esprit de corps since coming aboard, going from a sim newbie to an experienced and dedicated crew member in a very short period of time. They have come out of their shell to learn confidence as a writer, and improved in their writing even during this mission, piloting the Hera in both simulations and live combat. They promote positive interactions with other crew members, even as their stories are compelling, and her characterization is both interesting and relatable. Not to mention a wealth of customized artwork to make us shine! We are proud to have her represent the Hera as our Writer of the Month for October.

- B'Elanna Torres Treknobabble Commendation - Lieutenant Commander Thex sh'Zoarhi
This award is given to commend writers of characters in any and all departments for their outstanding use of nonsensical technology words and use of star trek language to produce writing so confusingly authentic that it seems as though it came right out of a script. Awarded to players who work treknobabble into their posts, making the fantastic sound believable. Whether in the engineering or science fields, treknobabble ranges from Heisenberg compensators in transporters to polywater intoxication in medicine. When reading a post, the word protomatter just sounds a lot more Trek than the term red matter ever will.

- The Grumpy Tribble - Lieutenant Delilah Dauntless
