December and Escaped Pantheon Awards

It was another banner month for the Hera in December. With the holidays and the stress and travel, most sims go on hiatus. But we rolled on through like a boss, due to all of the cool stories we had to tell this month. The spatial anomaly containing the Worldship of Log’yerm/// offered opportunities for character building stories alongside high adventure, intrigue and even a climactic battle with demonic cultist Keebler elves who were trying to summon Asmodeus.

A great month with great writing and good times, so let's get to the awards, which you all so richly deserve!

-=Fleet Level Awards=-

- Area 51 Gold Medal
This is based on post count and average posts per user- a pure numbers game versus other sims in our Task Force. We’ve now gotten Gold four months in a row! This is amazing and unprecedented! Let’s keep up the amazing work and we are already on track to set more records this month!

- Area 51 Player of the Month - Commander Rita Paris
The spirit of the 23rd century is alive and well in the Hera’s First Officer. Always at hand and ready for story consults and plotting, she also makes herself available to anyone who wants to write, even as she seeks new recruits. Flexible, level-headed and good natured, Cmdr. Paris always seeks a diplomatic solution whenever possible, and her enthusiasm and drive make her an invaluable asset to the USS Hera in her ongoing mission.

- Area 51 CO of the Quarter: USS Hera: Captain Enalia Telvan
Taking a ship adrift with no writers and no posts, shuttered and done, and turning it into the powerhouse of the fleet practically overnight is no mean feat, and one accomplished by few. But Captain Telvan and the Hera came out strong and hasn’t let up. Her crew are writing and all aboard are happy, and that’s recognized by the fleet in the CO of the Quarter award, which she couldn’t have done without the support of the finest crew in the fleet.

- Hera's Crew Choice - Commander Rita Paris
Commander Rita Paris is, in many respects, the glue that holds the Hera together and the Engine that keeps her moving. An instrumental figure in organizing key arcs, keeping stories alive, and bringing other characters together.

- Departmental Distinction: Sciences - Lieutenant JG Asa Dael
Doctor Dael's amazing commitment to the well being of everyone on the Hera and skill at diagnosing and treating problems at every level while providing unparalleled compassion. All of this and more is on perfect display in her emotional counseling, diagnosing and ultimate treatment of Lt. JG Dox in the story "Medical Revelations".

- Departmental Distinction: Technological Services - Lieutenant Commander Thex sh'Zoarhi
Thex's ability to investigate and diagnose the artifacts of the gods has been instrumental in the HERA's mission.

- Good Conduct Ribbon - Lieutenant Commander Thex sh'Zoarhi
Always ready and willing to write, Thex will reach out to others to start a story and never turns down a request to write. In and out of character, Lieutenant Commander Thex sh'Zoarhi represents the true spirit of Starfleet. Even if her name is a pain in the butt to write.

Once again, a threat to the Hera is stopped by the simple conversation of an onboarding by Commander Paris. Ensign Mudd, we hardly knew ye.

For taking a blade to the gut when the fate of the galaxy hung in the balance.

- Captain's Honor - Lieutenant Mnhei'sahe Dox
For outstanding enthusiasm for writing and creativity for the continued narrative.

That brings us to the conclusion of the awards for the month, and we really couldn’t be more proud of each and every one of you. Everyone did an outstanding job of keeping those creative juices flowing, offering what time they have and crafting some really amazing writing. All of you should take great pride in your endeavors throughout this mission, because you have certainly made us proud. Because the Hera’s pretty darned amazing, and we owe it all to teamwork- the Starfleet way.
