Not just a mother but a grandmother, Tyra is not the primes speciment she once was, but she is still in pretty good shape for a greying old mare.

Personality & Traits
General Overview | A centaur from the world of Arboria, on her native planet Ironhooves was a healer, a worker of mystical forces. But when accidental first contact came in the form of a crashed starship, the fascination with science and medicine that could be applied by those not gifted by the gods appealed to the shaman. Thus she took to the stars to learn science to bring it home to share with her people and change her world. It won't, of course. But she is an idealist. |
|
Strengths & Weaknesses | Not the smartest genius to ever come a long. A good doctor- thorough, educated, well-read, but she is no savant, so things do not tend to come easily to her. Works well under combat conditions as she comes from a warrior people, but tends to get stressed over more mundane matters. A reputation for being cranky is mostly due to her not suffering fools gladly, and her overall issue with Starfleet insisting on putting her on starships clearly not made for bipedal life forms. Is not fond of giving 'pony rides' but will grudgingly do so for children. |
|
Ambitions | Bring science to a world of magic, never realizing that's how you kill magic.
Hobbies & Interests | Woodcarving, pottery, blacksmithing and metalworking, reading medical journals. Avid cross-country runner on the holodeck. |

Thus she took to the stars to learn science to bring it home to share with her people and change her world. Has large family she started on home planet that has very much grown up without her, thus lending some poor familial relations. Home planet suffered a catastrophe during First Contact (accidental) and her joining Starfleet connect her to The Great Darkness, so she tends to be persona non grata on her home planet, sneaking home to visit when she does. |
