Counselor's Log: New Billet

Chief Counselor's Personal Log, Stardate 72681.4

I've been checked into my new assignment as Chief Counselor on the USS Hera. We have yet to leave drydock, so I've started my assignment of "onboarding" new crew, as well as reviewing the files of current crew as well. I've also started conducting baseline interviews with certain crew members.

So far, it seems that this ship is a floating haven for Crew members with PTSD. Almost everyone I've met has a tragedy in their past. The ship has time travellers, soldiers, intel operatives- almost any sort of strange event one could imagine. If it weren't true, I'd say that the whole thing was too strange to be real. Then again, as I've learned from previous experience, reality can be a tenuous thing. Who's to say that this reality isn't some kind of pocket dimension?

I've settled into my quarters, which I don't have to share. Compared to previous assignments, I live in the lap of luxury. Despite my low rank, I am considered Senior Staff, and that gives me some privileges.

I've transferred my research library into one of the encrypted personal access banks on board. From there, my research on the psychology of the Borg collective can continue, as well as monitoring the research done on the few rescued from the collective. There is always hope.

That's a very apt summary! We are a ship of individuals who are damaged just enough to make them interesting.
