Round the Circle Again

Posted on Tue May 12th, 2015 @ 1:38am by Stephen Jenkins & Lieutenant JG Airi Saxa & Alden Engstrom XIII

Mission: The New Sydney Fiasco
Location: Conference Room 3

So far, no one had given them any additional information to add to what they had learned from Commander Fairchild and Captain Telvan. Either the crew was hiding things or they simply didn't know anything, and Stephen was inclined to believe the latter. He didn't think interviewing any more people was going to help them find any further data, but Alden called the shots and the other man wanted more people interviewed. To Stephen's surprise, Alden had given him the lead on the next interview, with the ship's flight control officer. He'd taken his time getting ready, and once his notes were prepared, he paged her over the communications system. "Lieutenant Junior Grade Airi Saxa, please report to Conference Room 3."

Airi looked up from whatever she was doing, and sighed. Her black leather flight jacket was overtop of her uniform, and her weapon was at her side. "Oh yeah, the spooks.." she mumbled, heading to the turbolift, not even bothering to grace them with a responce.

It would be a few minutes before she'd walk into the conference room and shrug out of her flight jacket, placing it over the back of the seat, sitting down in it, facing Jenkins.

"Lieutenant Saxa." As usual, Stephen's voice was mild and carried little emotion one way or another. "Your commanding officer's report states that you did some fighter reconnaissance in the past, but we do not have a report from you."

"That's right." she answered evenly. One of her previous hosts might have remembered the man before her but she didn't recall it right now. "As I understand it, your inquiry is involving the events that transported us here, namely the Devidians and temporal anomaly, correct? I wasn't even on the ship. And looking from outside in doesn't offer a lot of insight." Sure, she'd give her report, but there was that point to be made.

Interrupting Jenkins' reply, Engstrom glanced down at his PaDD and asked a more specific question. "According to logs, you were aboard and most likely asleep for the initial temporal vortex but as a recon pilot, you had your eyes on what happened. Specifically, the battle between the Pirandello, Hera, and that Klingon D-6 battlecruiser. Can you please describe... in your own words... what happened during that battle?"

"My weapons weren't modified, thankfully, but it was your normal ship battle until the Hera used the triolic-modifed phasers. That opened up a portal and the Hera looked like she was covered in some kinda blue energy, with wisps going in and out of the hull. I think they got on the klingon ship too, disabled her."

"That's it?" Despite his even tone, Stephen was incredulous. There was no way that covered the entire battle.

"I can give you the sensor logs I took down that would probably correlate with what you know. Other than what happened with us I do not believe the timeline was sabotaged negatively." She produces a padd to back up her point.

"What about sabotage of the timeline from people among the Hera's crew?" Stephen asked, tapping down some more notes.

"If such an action took place, I'm unaware of it, Agent Jenkins." She crossed her arms lightly, looking between both him and the man that curiously reminded her of someone out of old Earth entertainment. "But are you asking me if I have a bad feeling about anybody aboard the Hera?"

"Please just answer the questions as they are asked, Lieutenant," Stephen said firmly.

Then this old host will keep her feelings to herself. Airi thought, before shaking her head slightly. "Then my initial answer stands. If such an action took place, I was unaware of it."

"Then you are also unaware of any connection a member of this crew may have to Franklin Drake?" Stephen continued.

"Yeah." She nodded after a moment. Oh she knew of Franklin Drake, thanks to her memories. But this time around she had no contact or knowledge of his movements. Nor really any idea of who it could be.

"Interesting. Tell me... do you recognize anyone on this list?" As they had with the others, Stephen gave Airi the PaDD with the list.

"The XO...the chef I've never met, and someone one of my previous hosts knew about.." Airi replied deadpan, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Haven't interacted with the latter two this time around, and the XO only rarely."

Alden had to interject again. "Memories from this lifetime will be sufficient, thank you. He's not that old so if a prior host has heard of him, I doubt it's the same man. Do you have anything else to add to the information you've provided us today?"

"Not at this time." Airi replied confidently., in response to the man's interjection. "If that should change, I am certain word will reach you through the chain of command."

"Then you are free to go." Stephen took his PaDD back and put it back with the PaDDs that held their notes.

"Thank ya. Have a good day." she replied with a smile to both before heading out of the room, having collected her jacket from the back of the seat.
