Mission: Where Angels Fear to Tread
Location: Sinek's Quarters
Timeline: After Sinek visits sick bay

Lieutenant Commander Sinek returned to his quarters from sick bay. Once inside, he locked the door behind him. Inside, he felt a primal fear. Not a fear for himself, but a fear for others seeing the Vulcan losing control. He could have done some damage to the Doctor just now, but he gained control thanks to Ethan's friendship.

He also feared how Angel would react. She may have already notice the incident on the bridge. She must not see him with all the turmoil going on within him.

What was he to do? Shut himself inside his quarters for two weeks? What if he were not able to overcome? ~ I cannot subject Angel to this. ~

Now that she wasn't working in security, Angel had found she had the privilege of occasionally getting off duty a few minutes early. Today she'd decided to use that time to surprise Sinek with freshly made tea, but when she unlocked the door to his cabin he was already there. Quirking an eyebrow at him, she let the door close behind her before approaching him from behind and slipping her arms around his waist. "You're home early."

Sinek's pointed ears had heard the quiet swish of the door before she spoke. His Vulcan sense of smell had recognized her scent. He felt her arms around him now and his body began to shake. Sinek was torn. His body was crying out for a lustful encounter. All of his physiology was driving him to mate. However, Sinek did not wish to be driven by his emotions. He wished to choose.

It was true he had chosen to love Angel. However, he had never truly loved anyone at the onset of Pon Farr. He felt his body heat rising at her touch. The fever returned as he began to lose control.

Pulling Angel's arms from around him, Sinek turned and backed away with fear in his eyes. It was not a fear of Angel, but of what he might do to her.

Lowering his eyes, Sinek pleaded, "Angel...you must go. I...cannot keep control."

"What has gotten into you?" Angel was puzzled, even hurt, by Sinek's sudden rejection of her. Coupled with the brief rise in his body temperature just before he'd retreated, it was worrying. "Sinek, talk to me."

Sinek looked at Angel with pain in his eyes. Every fiber of his body was crying out to just take her then and there. But this is the one he chose. He couldn't do this to her.

He slowly turned away and breathed out, "Pon Farr!" It was in these times he hated being Vulcan. Losing control of his emotions was his greatest fear.

Surprised, Angel blinked at him even though he couldn't see her. For a moment, she had no idea how to respond, but then she slowly came to his side and gently put her arms around him again, this time understanding why she felt so much heat coming from him. "Okay. We knew this was coming eventually." Resting her head against his shoulder, she continued. "I can help you through this, you know."

At first, Sinek tensed, then eased into her. "You do not understand. I am losing control and soon will succumb to the full force of my emotions. The choice I have made to love you, will be overcome by lustful passions and desires. I do not wish to treat you in that regard."

Sinek lost some control as he exclaimed, "You deserve love!" He looked Angel in the eye; a lone tear fell from an eye.

"I understand more than you realize," Angel said gently, brushing that single tear away from his face. "I knew we'd face this eventually, and it doesn't frighten me. It might even be fun." She gave him a bit of a crooked grin, not seeing any problem at all with a night of lustful passion and desire. "If I can't handle you during Pon Farr, I don't deserve to have you."
