The Walking Dead

Posted on Tue Dec 22nd, 2015 @ 11:10pm by Lieutenant Ventarus Nosplet & Petty Officer 2nd Class Amelia Takethen

Mission: Where Angels Fear to Tread
Location: The Pod

As the blue light dissipated from around Ven's sight, he stepped down from the transporter pad and started firing off orders. " We need to alter the plasma flow to the deflector..." He slowly trailed off as he noticed that he had been transported to the Pod and not transporter room three. Only Amelia stood there at the controls. "Was there a problem with the destination command?" Something else for him to fix...

Amelia stood there, tears in her eyes as she moved around the controls, stepping over the open electronics panels and the biolab equipment she had borrowed. "Ven? Is it really you?"

Suddenly Ven felt rooted in place. His mouth went dry and he was finding it hard to swallow. "Whats happened?" Clearly Ame was upset. This might be bigger then just needing to calibrate the transporters.

"You died." Amelia choked out, tears streaming from her eyes now.

"What?" Ven said shaking his head. He willed his feet forward, but came to a halt just before Amelia as he noticed the red of Command around her neck. "Wait...when did you transfer from engineering?" Something was clearly not right here. Ven could feel the wave of anxiety starting to wash over him. "I don't understand..."

Amelia nodded and tried to compose herself. "I tried to copy your more recent memories into the buffer so they might take a few to come to you. Over the last hour, I've been using the pod holotransport system and your biologics scans to reconstitute an old transporter buffer pattern. What's the last thing that you remember?"

"Transporting out of here...well that was the idea anyways." Ven said trying to get a grasp on what Amelia was telling him. But he knew one thing. He dropped the bag of tools at his feet and went to her, wrapping his arms around her. "Did we actually get sucked back in time?" He asked, hoping that part was not true.

Amelia broke down crying, clinging to Ven. Nodding, she sniffled and calmed down just enough to continue. "The devidians attacked because of me and you died and when we got back it was 4 years in the future..."

Ven's embrace tightened around her. " You saved me." he said simply.

Amelia nodded as she clung to Ven. "You're un-dead now."

Ven chuckled a little, "Never been so glad to be un-dead." He pulled back from her just slightly in order to press his lips into Amelia's.

Amelia's antenna wiggled in happiness as she kissed back. She once again felt complete. After a few moments, she ended the kiss and looked at him again. "Welcome back."

"This is going to take some time to wrap my head around." Ven admitted. "I think I should see the doctor...or the Captain or something."

"Plenty of time for that." Amelia said as she grabbed a tricorder and popped out the medical scanner and ran it over Ven briefly. Smiling at the results, she handed it to Ven. "These new tricorders have quasi-quantum scanning and twice the range of our venerable mark8 models. Do you want to see the captain or the doctor first? Or both?"

"Perhaps both." Ven said with a shaky voice. He looked at the tricorder but didn't really know what the information on it told him. Looked like it was operating correctly.

"I'm sorry, you probably need some rest first, don't you? There's a big bed in my new quarters. I got a bit of a promotion. I'm the XO's yeoman now and my quarters are next to hers. You can meet Tobi as well. He's my new pet." Amelia was rambling now, looking around the room at the scattered electronics.

Ven watch Amelia for a long moment then looked down at his feet s a blush spread over his face. "Only if you promise to take advantage of me, I don't want to die a virgin again." Then he managed to lean in and bite her on the neck, knowing full well exactly what it meant this time.

"I'll guarantee it." Amelia replied, purring into the bite blissfully, no longer distracted by her own thoughts.
