Ambassadorial Welcome

Posted on Mon Mar 7th, 2016 @ 12:03am by Commander Angelica Fairchild & Captain Enalia Telvan & Commander Sinek & Petty Officer 2nd Class Amelia Takethen

Mission: Talosian Perversions
Location: Transporter Room One

Enalia and her senior officers were again gathered for a formal function in dress uniform. This time though, it was for the arrival of two ambassadors, which also happened to be Commander Sinek's parents. Nodding to the transporter officer, also in her dress uniform just for this occasion, the transport began, bringing the pair to the Hera.

Stepping forward slightly, she gave the normal Vulcan salute perfectly and addressed the party of four that had beamed over. "Ambassadors Vesik and T'Qol, welcome aboard." Turning and motioning to Angel and Sinek, she continued. "Please allow me to introduce my First and Second Officers, Commander Angel Fairchild and Commander Sinek. They'll be working with you closely in any mission parameters that require your assistance."

Vesik raised his right hand toward the captain, giving the traditional blessing upon the Captain. T'Qol looked at Sinek only. A third party was present on the pad. This female Vulcan was rather tall and slender. They all wore very traditional Vulcan robes.

"It is not necessary Captain, to tie up both your Senior Officers," Vesik evenly explained. "Commander Sinek will be adequate to assist us." He pointed toward the tall female now getting off the transporter. "This is our..." He paused as if searching for a word, "intern."

The female now stood before Sinek. "Sinek, you do remember T'Zal, do you not?"

Sinek did remember her from his childhood days. They actually did spend quite a bit of time together when the were younger. Sinek knew T'Zal in those days more than he knew any other Vulcan, even his parents. He was amazed he didn't remember the strange pull he felt toward her. A pull that was seeming to revive, the result of the bonding ceremony when they were children. There have been tales of this bond causing one party to travel a great distance, following where the bond directed them.

"I do," was all that Sinek could express.

Then T'Zal did something unusual. She glanced at Commander Fairchild a sniffed. A snarl soon evolved on the Vulcan's face. A Vulcan expressing emotion meant one of two things. For the younger, it meant Ponn Far.

Giving a worried look to the growling woman, Enalia tore her eyes off of her to continue addressing Vesik. "My apologies Ambassador. It's normal procedure for me to have my two highest ranking officers with me when greeting dignitaries. I also thought it prudent to have your son's mate present in case of any difficulties. She's an accomplished officer and quite a bit stronger than she looks, both mentally and physically."

Vesik's face became very solemn as he gazed at Sinek. "This is an item to be discussed in private. Between Sinek and myself." He turned to Captain Telvan attending to the business at hand. "I assume you know the reason for our coming. You have made the necessary arrangements?"

It was Enalia's turn to become very solemn. "We were not informed of your reason for coming other than that you will be at my disposal should a diplomatic necessity for your presence be required. Based on the manifest of your cargo, I presume it has something to do with personal matters. I encourage you to settle these matters at or before the banquet tomorrow. Commander Sinek can brief you on the timetable and show you to your quarters. If you'll excuse me, we're also about to continue our mission and meeting up with a ship for resupply in less than an hour. I will leave you all to acquaint yourselves with one another now." Turning to leave, Enalia paused at the door to deliver one more message. "And Ambassador, if you've wasted Starfleet time and resources on a personal matter that is not life and death, there will be an investigation. Please be sure your logic is sound in this matter. If anyone needs me, I'll be on the bridge."

And without another word, Enalia finally left the transporter room as the door hissed closed behind her.

Angel hadn't quite expected T'Zal to snarl at her like that, but she kept her expression as neutral as possible until Enalia left the room. "As first officer on this ship I merit the same respect you would give Captain Telvan. You're an honored guest here. Act like it." Maybe it wasn't proper to scold an ambassadorial intern in that manner, but Angel wasn't about to let this horror show of a visit start off with snarling and growling. "On a more personal note, anything that involves Sinek also involves me. He's going to tell me everything you say anyway, so why bother trying to keep me away?"

T'Zal glared at Angel, then allowed logic to take hold. "I formally apologize, Commander, as Ponn Far is setting in and I could not endure your scent on the one who is bonded to me." T'Zal looked to Sinek. "The reason I have come with your family is to finalize our bonding in the ritual ceremony."

Sinek evenly expressed, "You know that I have chosen to bond with another. With you, I did not have that choice. Nevertheless, you still wish to fulfill the bonding." It was a statement, not a question.

It was time for Vesik to step in and take control. "Yes. Perhaps this discussion should take place in a private venue. Sinek," he turned and slightly bowed to Angel, "Commander Fairchild, please guide us to our quarters."

Her scent? Angel's well-practiced poker face covered up her amusement, but she did cast a quick look in Sinek's direction. Deciding his response was better than the 'well, deal with it' reply that popped into her own head, she instead turned to Vesik. "Of course. Please, follow us there."

"Thank you, Commander," Vesik replied.

The atmosphere was tense, although quiet the entire way to the guest suite. However, in the silence, a battle seemed to be raging. Was this the calm before the storm? The eye of the violent hurricane? The situation seemed to be the period of time when the gases begin to form within the volcanic chambers just before the eruption.
