That Had Better Not Be Bacon!

After being cleared and discharged from Sickbay following her return from the Borg Cube, Chief Klem had returned to her quarters to soak her feet in some mud and relax a little. Stripping down and letting the warm mud get between her hooves and up her legs, helped relax her. It calmed her nerves. She was still trying to cope with what she had seen and heard aboard the cube and what had happened to the members of the away team. Chief Klem fell asleep on her sofa with the muddy clay cooling down and starting to harden around her hooves. The alarm she had set woke her up though and she wiggled her feet to freedom, taking a wet towel to clean off the mud.

The computer voiced in a few moments later with an unnecessary announcement. “The time is now 1700 hours” it said.

Ginny Klem snorted “Yeah, I know...okay.” She finished cleaning off the mud and headed into her bedroom to change into something casual, but nice. She had made dinner plans before heading out on the away mission and had set the alarm just in case she fell asleep, expecting that she would once she got her hooves into some warm mud. After several minutes, she left her bedroom area with some black slacks and dull but good fitting blouse and a simple fixing of her hair and makeup.

A few crewmen passed by in the corridor as she stood outside the man's quarters, waiting for him to answer. She heard a few whispers from the passing crewmen. She knew them both to be gossiping cows, one from engineering and another from security. Chief Klem could only imagine what the two women were saying to one another and no doubt about the Chief standing outside an officer's quarters in casual clothing.

Before the two cows got onto the turbolift, the doors to the man's quarters opened and the young man came out and wrapped his arms around Chief Klem. She squeezed back and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Go ahead. Gossip all you want little cows thought the Chief as she looked to see the intrigue on the faces of the crewmen as she headed into the officer's quarters and the doors shut behind her.

She had been in the man's quarters several times before. She had even helped him get settled in when he had first come aboard a while back. The two often had breakfast together and once in a while when their schedules allowed, they had a nice dinner together. Her pig snout shot in the air as the scent of food came over her. “That had better not be bacon I smell” she said teasingly.

“I'd never” replied the ensign with a short laugh and a broad smile. “If I cooked bacon, you'd beat the shit out of me” he said knowing damn well that she would too. “It's all vegetables and fruit, I promise. Though I do have some replicated meat for myself, but it isn't anything pig like and only replicated. The fruit and vegetables, however, are fresh and grown” he explained as he walked her towards the table and pulled out the chair for her.

Chief Klem shook her head and smiled as she sat down. “Always such a gentlemen, but if I were any other Tellarite, I'd smack you for your insulting kindness” she said in response to his actions. “Your father and uncle raised you well though, Julian” she added as she looked over the spread of well seasoned vegetables and vibrantly colored fruits. “And an excellent cook” commented the Tellarite.

The ensign soon joined her, taking a seat across from her and sighed. “I am so glad you are back safely. I do not know what I would do without you” he said softly.

“Oh hush” she said shaking her head. “You would do just fine aboard the Hera without me” she said as she looked around his quarters. “You've changed things around. Nicely decorated” she said flatly.

Ensign De Rivera chuckled. “You are being a Tellarite” he said shaking his head. “You hate it and find it absolutely hideous” said Julian.

The Chief nodded. “Absolutely” she said simply “But the food is truly delicious” she said after taking a few bites.
