Mission: When Iconians Deserve to Die
Location: Deneb II
Timeline: Current

Thex grinned as she tasted blood in her mouth as she rolled out of the way of the Orion's foot. Springing back to her feet she grinned as she blocked another of the Orion woman's punches before landing a blow on the woman's abdomen sending her backward and causing the crowd to cheer.

Unregulated hand to hand combat now this she had been missing she thought as the orions screamed as she flung herself at the Andorian in a flurry of punches and kicks. For every blow, the Andorian blocked or deflected another struck her sending stabs of pain through her body.

She grinned as she launched her counterattack landing several blows on the Orion woman's torso causing the Orion fighter to have to adopt a defensive posture as Thex forced her back. With a kick that she didn't see coming Thex broke her defense causing her to stagger back. Not letting her regain her balance Thex ran forward landing a punch cross the woman's face sending her spinning to the ground.

The Andorian grinned increased as she didn't get up and the klaxon sounded. Smiling Thex headed for her exit as her opponent staggered in the other direction.

Within a few minutes, she was collecting her winnings from a rather unhappy Klingon who had obviously bet on her opponent. With a small pile of latinum in a bag at her waist, the andorian smiled as she took in the sights and smells of Deneb II. It was far from the captain's own private space station, but it had a life of its own. Weapons, drugs, and food you couldn't get in the Federation were sold by vendors from a thousand worlds all while the dimly lighted corridors were patrolled by the mercs hired to protect the station.

One thing the Andorian couldn't see was the person she had come here to meet. What could have been keeping him?

Clio honestly hadn't meant to wander in on the fighting arena, but once she'd heard the ruckus she couldn't help investigating. It was exactly the sort of place she'd love to participate in but never would... she was too scared she'd end up killing someone and wind up behind bars. To her surprise, she saw Thex in the ring and then collecting winnings. She knew Thex wasn't expecting her, so she approached somewhat cautiously. "You know... if Enalia or Mal caught you in here you could be in a lot of trouble."

The Andorian was slightly startled when the lieutenant commander voice reached her ears. "Holy... Sorry, Clio didn't see you there. Yeah I know I can end up in trouble.... Hang on what are you doing here?" she asked inquisitively.

"Followed the sounds. Like you, combat is in my blood. I don't dare enter the ring though." Clio shrugged slightly. "I'm not planning to tell either of them. I know how to keep a secret or three."

"Thanks. Why won't you enter the ring though? I thought you were a good fighter." Thex asked as she leaned back against the wall.

"It's a little hard to keep such things secret if you have a penchant for killing your opponents without much mercy." It was a matter-of-fact statement, not a boast or even a sinful secret. Clio was well-known in her circles as a bringer of death.

"Yeah, that would be hard to keep secret. Don't suppose you've seen someone around here. An old human who looks very out of place?" Thex asked politely.

"He's about ten meters behind me, sitting at a picnic table with a drink mug. Thought he looked a bit odd sitting by himself drinking, but just about everyone here looks a little strange anyway." Clio just barely glanced over her shoulder, confirming that the man she'd seen was still there. "Older, seems to have a few secrets in his past he doesn't share. Unless you meant a woman, in which case, no."

"Very observant Lieutenant Eneas Clio. I'll have to work better at my illusions." Said a man appearing right behind the pair. It spoke with an alien haunting voice without moving its lips as the words echoed in your skull. It lips parted into a terrifying grin as it looked at the Andorian. "Good to see you again little one."

"Good to see you to Vash." Thex said giving the old man that clearly wan't human a hug.

"Lieutenant Commander, actually." Clio didn't like the way the man's voice seemed to echo in her brain. It was too much like telepathy, and it was downright eerie. "How do you know who I am anyway? We haven't met."

"It's the name on your Starfleet profile, isn't it?" Vash replied with the same grin.

A prickle ran up Clio's spine as she took a half step away from whoever this person was. "And what business do you have reading my Starfleet profile?"

"Well, I need to know who I'm handing the info over. Your current contact couldn't make it so she asked me to hand it over." The creature replied as it sent a flash of his own starfleet intelligence profile and allowed the Cervan to see his true form. The human form faded like water washing away dirt reviling a blue Cnidaria that hovered higher than the two Starfleet officers.

"...well that explains a lot." Clio didn't have much experience with the Cnidaria, but she knew enough about them to understand what was going on here. "My current contact also missed his last check in, so I wasn't sure if we would be receiving anything today."

"He is otherwise delayed. The syndicate was following him so he needed an emergency extraction. He asked to pass this on." The alien jellyfish responded as it seemingly pulled a data stick from thin air.

"The Orions still giving you trouble?" Thex asked the closest thing she had to a father.

"Well two of them have started fighting each other which has made are job easier. I hope Thex is proving herself a credit to your ship." The jellyfish asked Cilo.

"Thex is a good engineer and apparently a decent enough spy too. We like having her around." Clio couldn't comment much on Thex's actual work, not being in the same department. But she liked the Andorian woman well enough. "Good fighter too, not that Starfleet puts much stock in that."

"I'm glad she's making herself useful. Keep her safe won't you?" The jellyfish replied.

"Of course. Though I'm not sure she really needs any help with that." Clio grinned a bit.

"I'm the closest thing she has to a father i worry about her." The jellyfish said as he appred to be folding in on himself.

"I know you do. See you later," Thex said as the jellyfish vanished. "Sorry about that he has a habit of vanishing like that."

"It's quite all right. Now that I know what to expect, he won't startle me next time." Clio still didn't quite know what to think of what had just happened, but she wasn't questioning it either. Weird things happened to you when you worked in Intelligence, after all.

"Well now that's over do you have anything else you need to do?" Thex asked politely.

"No, but I do think I'll be heading back. That was quite enough adventure for one night, I think." Clio was still processing the entire event... and hoping it wasn't going to become a regular occurrence. "Be careful out here, Thex."

"See you back on the ship." The replied as she wandred off towards another fighting pit. Her winnings bags could be bigger by the end of the day.
