Mission: Refit Rondo
Location: Ventral Phaser Control
Timeline: After a meeting with the Captain

T'Pral tapped several commands into the Tactical Console as the computer ran a test of the phaser banks, by powering them to capacity and then back down again. As she powered the ventral phaser bank, an alarm sounded before the power drained and went offline. T'Pral let out a sigh. One thing she learned about engineers when undergoing an upgrade is that everything got an upgrade whether it needed it or not. She opened her comm channel as she secured her station and made her way to the turbolift. "Lieutenant T'Pral to Engineering, the Ventral Phaser Bank has gone offline and is unresponsive. I will meet you at the Ventral Phaser Control Room. T'Pral, out."

"Meet you there." Thex replied before finishing of reattaching the panel she had been working on. It only took her a second for her tools to go back into her belt. It only took her a minute to arrive at the control room slightly before the lieutenant who she knew was in charge of security. Doing her thing she started to run a diagnostic scan.

T'Pral spotted the engineer she recognized as the Chief of Engineering from her review of the ship's senior officers as she entered the room. "I am Lieutenant T'Pral Jordan, the new Security Chief aboard the Hera," she introduced herself. "I was performing tests on the phaser array when it lost power during a powering up test."

"Lieutenant Thex sh'Zoarhi chief of keeping this girl running. Sorry for starting already, but the girls been driving me mad all day. Someone bugged the ships computer code up royally and it driving me mad thinking it all. " Thex replied politely offering one of her hands as she furiously moved across the console.

T'Pral shook the offered hand. "Is there anything I can do to help?" she asked, glancing at a small monitor status report.

"Can you keep an eye on the screen. If something flashes up saying warning make sure to tell me." The andorian said as she walked over to the phaser bank and removed it's maintenance panel. "Just need to check if everything inside is working and if the power comes back on I could get a very nasty shock."

"The power shouldn't come back on as I locked my station on the bridge," T'Pral reported but she had been on starships long enough to know that Murphy's Quantum Law of whatever can go wrong, will go wrong was a moment away at any given time.

" That would normal be the case, but with the code messing the computers up so badly i don't want to take any chances. " came Thex's reply as she disappeared into the phaser bank. Her hand shot out and grabbed her kit before disappearing inside. " Well it looks like everything inside working. Anything on the screen?" Came her voice from the maintenance shoot.

T'Pral looked over the screen at the information. "It says the power relays are connected, so it should be ready to power up."

There was a slight bump and a shuffle as the andorian repaired. " Everything seems okay in the innards. How about you try firing it. " She said standing up as she did so.

T'Pral opened the relays, allowing the phaser bank to charge maximum firing level. "That appears to have done the job," she reported, powering the phaser bank back down. "Thank you for the repair."

" Didn't do much. Just put it back to factory setting to get it working again. I really need to get into the main computers and sort out this buggy code that been messing up the systems. Is gotten into three different systems already. Hate to have this running through the ship if we have to move." Thex said standing up and dusting herself off. No one had been in that panel for a while.

T'Pral nodded. "That would be wise." Unsure of how to continue, she secured the terminal. "I should get back to the Bridge if you do not require my assistance any further."

" While you're up there could you make a log of any faults the systems have? It going to take me a while to purge the computer of this mess. " The andorian asked politely.

"Of course." She enjoyed meeting the Chief Engineer, finding her a capable and competent officer. "I look forward to our next meeting," T'Pral allowed a small grin before heading for the exit.

" Want to meet up later for drinks? I like to get to know the people I'll be working with." Thex said as she headed back to the console.

T'Pral paused as she considered the invitation. She turned back to Thex and grinned. "I would be honored."

" Well, I'll see you later then." Thex replied as she turned back to look at the consol.
