The First Drill.

Posted on Mon Jun 15th, 2015 @ 7:05pm by Lieutenant JG Vitor Tito & Lieutenant Daln Hadren & Crewman Bart & Cadet Senior Grade Jenny Thorne

Mission: The New Sydney Fiasco

The Nausicaans were boarding the ship. They were pirates who didn't mind killing, and sometimes actually took pleasure in it. The job of the security personnel was to contain them and prevent them from killing the crew. The first Nausicaan came around the corner and Bart snarled at him, pulling at the leash. Then another Nausicaan came around another corner, trying to come at them from two sides. The one on the right fired at Tito.

Vitor turned just in time and raised the rifle to fire back. His shot landed on the pirates chest but another one took his place and Vitor saw two more behind that one. He fired again as he shouted to Jenny.
"DONĀ“T LET THEM CORNER US, PUSH FORWARD." If they were cornered the bigger and stronger Nausicaan's would have the upper hand.

Jenny fired at the Nausicaan trying to corner them from the right, releashing Bart's leash. The dog raced forward and grabbed the foremost pirate by the arm, dragging him down, making him easily shot by one of the other Starfleet personnel.

Ensign Tartleton fired at the Nausicaan in Bart's teeth. Finally they saw an end to the Nausicaans. Hadren was in another part of the program, ensuring that the Engine Room was secure, as other personnel were ensuring with the bridge. Daln wanted to know if they could coordinate well with each other in different areas. Daln fired his phase rifle at the last Nausicaan in engineering and tapped his combadge.

=A= Hadren to Tito. Engineering is secure, as is every deck below deck 5. What is your status? =A=

Vitor moved quickly pointing to the last intersection before the turbolift. "Check those corners." He tapped his combadge to reply. =^=Tito here, clear decks 4 and 3. Finishing the sweep on deck 2, we... =^=

Disruptor blasts began to target the foreward team as Vitor moved in.

A beam of light hit Tito and he was beamed away from the holodeck outside. A beam fired at Bart, but he leaped at the man the moment he pressed the trigger and took his arm in his maw. Jenny fired at the man and scored a shot on his shoulder. "ENSIGN!" The chief beside her punched a Nausicaan and then killed him.

Daln came up behind the Nausicaans killed two of them. In the program there were five left, the five in the room with Jenny and Tartleton. Bart snarled as he tried to get another Nausicaan in his jaws, but the man kept him back. Schmitz, a young crewman, fired at another Nausicaan, but two were converging on Jenny. She holstered her phaser and hit one in the face with the palm, striking upward, swung around and hit the other in the chest, and was about to throw one onto the ground, but the one she just hit took her neck and she disappeared from the program. Tartleton shot the one in front of him, then took out the ones that had cornered Jenny, while Daln and Schmitz killed the other two.

Everyone was breathing hard, adrenaline coursing through their veins. Daln took a couple breaths to steady his heart.

=A= Computer, end program. =A= Daln tapped his combadge. =A= Hadren to the control group, send in the others. =A= Tito and Thorne walked in along with a very young Vulcan crewman.

Vitor frowned as he entered. It wasn't the first time he was 'killed' in a simulation.
This one hit him harder. He was already feeling out of shape, a little rusty, but he wasn't expecting to get down so quickly. Being a former Security Chief himself he guessed what would follow.
Shruging he tried to disguise his mood as he walked close to Hadren.

"Dead man walking. I made a bad call, it's my fault Sir."

Hadren's expression was not one anyone in Starfleet wanted to see on their superior's face. "Tito, I know you can do better. You were a security chief. This should be a slice of pie for you." He looked at the other two. He knew for a fact that they had excelled under the last chief. "All of you can do better."

"I kept pushing so they couldn't corner us. In close range they have a slight advantage.
My mistake was in not securing that T section slowly." Vitor tilted his head. "We should have consolidated before heading there." Vitor frowned. "I was afraid I was rusty, but I didn't think it was that bad."

Daln nodded, trying to keep his temper in check. When he didn't, others tended to get pissed along with him, but for no reason they knew. "Just...work on it." He looked at everyone else. "Alright, everyone, hit the showers. Tomorrow we're doing evacuation drills"

Vitor nodded and slowly began to walk to the door. He turned his head and saw Thorne near him. "Good work Thorne, sorry for my screw up."

Jenny smiled at him, proud of herself and of Bart. He rubbed his ear, telling him he was a good boy.

Daln shook his head. "Okay, dismissed.

Vitor scratched his bearded chin. Not the best way to impress the boss. I really need to get back in shape... And quickly... Taking a deep breath he walked out and let the thought's rest on the back of his mind. He smiled knowing that in a few minutes he would be on his quarters in the arms of his wife.
