Ishakawa strode onto the bridge, he had learned that much as he delved again into the sacred writings of the Hagakure; having lived by memory it was good to confirm he knew it well. The rituals of being with the sword again came naturally and now he was on a new vessel. Having arrived on a special supply run he felt better about having duty. His appearance was as it should be, the uniform crisp but not new, he liked to ''wear things in' as to be comfortable but proper. Replicating for a one or two time use seemed a waste of resources. He would not let the Fleet Department of Personnel down in their choice to assign him to the Hera.

With measured steps he could project the way of the Warrior; a true Samurai in his heart and actions. Coming to the door he need not adjust his jacket or uniform they were as ready for what came as he would be battle if it presented itself.

He rang the chime to be allowed access.

"Come in," Enalia called, the doors to her ready room parting to reveal the man on the other side. Her first impression was that he was a bit stiff but in a good way. She hoped that that impression was correct. "Lieutenant, Ishakawa, I presume. Please, have a seat."

"Thank you for your time Captain." He gave a respectful bow before moving to the desk to offer the PADD with his orders. "The Transfer ma'am, It is an honor to be here." He said and took the offered seat.

Taking the PaDD and glancing it over, Enalia sent it to her desk terminal and handed the PaDD back. "It's good to have you with us. We've been waiting on your arrival for a little while now. I'm sure assignments got papers crossed again as usual. So... I first have to ask how familiar you are with the computer, sensor, and comm systems aboard a Nebula class vessel like this. I've read your file, but I want to hear it in your own words."

"The computers and especially the Communications systems I am familiar with; I have more experience with comm systems to be honest, the sensory array has not been recently upgraded and I am able to work with the current systems. I have been refreshing myself with the most current schematics and to be honest technology only seems to make things easier but the complexity of the new systems are easily predictable. They are in essence the same basic princeipal just modernized to do more with smaller modular parts Ma'am."

"Excellent. And yeah, the Hera may be older, but she's still got some of the best sensors in the fleet. Take good care of her and she'll take good care of you." Enalia replied, leaning back in her chair and relaxing a bit. "I'll expect you to be proficient in maintaining all those systems as well as running Ops and pulling six hour shifts on the bridge as well. Odds are, you'll be the new night watch commander. Ensign Lazibumm hasn't been very thorough with the shift reports lately anyway."

"It would be an honor." Ishakawa said with a revernce he felt at being trusted. "I have taken watches as Officer of Deck before and know the procedures." He added. "I have noted that the Communications Array has been among the last for updates, there are a few modifications that could be implemented with routine maintenances, it will be a slow process but will not take systems off line as a total upgrade would. With permission I would implement the schedule or switching out components to do a slow upgrade?" He nod hopefully. "I have great experiences with Communications; was top of class with honors. I have been working with subspace relays since I was child."

"You sound like a shoe-in, then. Unfortunately, I can't authorize any upgrades at tis time. Since the ship skipped forward in time by four years, everything is still new and the runtimes aren't high enough to warrant replacement. Technically, we just had a complete refit less than a year ago and Starfleet isn't interested in dedicating the resources for another." Enalia explained.

"I will have notes for replacement to impelment upgrade during routine Remove and Replace, it will be a process that will end in the same results." Ishakawa suggested.

"As long as you can work through any possible incompatabilities without any downtime, go for it. Coordinate it with Commander Fairchild to make sure there aren't any conflicts with Engineering and the industrial replicator." The Hera's industrial replicator was big enough to replicate a workbee whole in less than an hour, but Enalia still worried about relying too heavily on it - it used insane amounts of power to run.

"I shall make sure no resources are taken off line, this will be done in scheduled maintinance and routings accordingly, one will never know until igher performance." Ishakawa said with pride. "The act will validate my words."

"Then I look forward to the results." Enalia said with a somewhat kind smile. "If there's nothing else, again, welcome aboard. Dismissed."

"Thank you sir." Ishakawa said , stood and departed
