Just like Old Times

Posted on Mon Apr 13th, 2015 @ 7:03pm by Lieutenant K’a’mirh’un Tenm & Tallara Lifal-Lesteh

Mission: Temporal Kickback
Location: Holodeck Three

[ON]

Lieutenant Cameron Tenm usually sought tension relief in one of two ways. The Klingon side of him preferred to fight, while his Trill half thoroughly enjoyed the company of a beautiful woman... or two. While the former had gotten him into trouble with the law while he was growing up on Chiron, the latter was still more than capable of earning the chagrin from parents, friends, and the occasional significant other.

When he entered the holodeck to vent in one fashion or the other, he'd fully intended on running one of his sensual love simulations. But the fact was that he was no longer the single man he once was. At least he didn't think he was.

Tallara Lifal-Lesteh began as a childhood friend and over the course of their friendship became something more. She'd been chiefly responsible in helping him to overcome the troublesome consequences of fighting his peers or pursuing other women, giving herself to him instead. But she was much more than that. She was his conscience. His soul. A source of temperament that he lacked before her.

It was because of her that Cameron had made out of that colony without a prison sentence; it was because of her that he joined Starfleet, and that he managed to graduate from the academy without so much as a single reprimand. Because every time he felt like causing trouble one way or another, she was there.

Broken from his thoughts, Cameron dodged a lumbering mass of stone... or what looked like stone this up close. The holographic Brikar and he had been sparring for almost a half an hour, and Cameron was exhausted, nonetheless still committed to his opponent. Defeating a Brikar in hand-to-hand combat required both speed and cunning; you had to know exactly where their 'weak points' were. And Cameron Tenm did. The problem he was facing right now was reaching them.

Khros, as the holographic Brikar was called, was making it very difficult, using his immense mass and weight to keep the Klingon/Trill hybrid at a distance, lest he catch one of those powerful fists to the jaw.

Tallara, having been looking through the halls of the Nebula class ship for some time now, paused for a moment near the holodecks. Curious about the ones on the ship, she looked at the controls of the first one she came to and it coincidentally was the same one Cam was in.

With a grin at the sight of the name on the screen, she entered the holodeck, trying not to disturb him in his sparring match. Standing off to the side, she watched him silently, a wry grin on her face. He hadn't changed a bit, had he?

Khros looked past Cameron and towards the new arrival. The Brikar grinned as it took another swing towards Cameron's head, which Cameron dodged easily. "There is a beautiful woman standing behind you, Tenm."

"Liar," Cameron retorted, coming in low and actually managing to get a solid jab at the Brikar's soft underside. Khros grunted and pulled away.

"Blue, young looking too. And also very naked..." Khros answered.

The description and its temptation proved too much for Cameron. He risked a sideways glance and saw Tallara. Seeing her, he couldn't help but to smile. But the opening was all Khros needed, however. As Cameron jolted himself out of his momentary daze in order to refocus on his opponent, all he saw was a large sand-colored block heading towards his face.

The next moment, Cameron felt himself going into the air. He crashed outside of the contest ring, thankfully on some gym pads to break his fall.

Khros chortled heavily.

"Bastard..." Cameron grunted, holding the sore spot that was his face. Then he looked to Tallara. "Hi Tal,"

"Hey you. Up to no good, I see." Tallara said with a grin, remembering how many times she'd cleaned his face up from just the sort of thing that had just happened. "Sorry I'm not very naked."

Picking himself off the ground, Cameron wiped an open gash on his forehead where the Brikar had struck him. It was bleeding. But the safety protocols made sure that the impact of the blow had been largely superficial. "I'll forgive you this time," he said to Tallara, then glancing behind him towards Khros. "That was a low blow, Brikar."

The Brikar chortled again. "Know your enemy to defeat your enemy," he said, giving Tallara another look over with his own beady eyes. "Is she one of your past conquests? Or soon to be?" He suggested about as jovial as a rock.

Cameron felt a mixed reaction. "Computer, remove Brikar from the simulation."

In a shimmer, Cameron's opponent vanished.

"Sorry about that," the Klingon/Trill hybrid told Tallara.

Tallara was still in a teasing mood though. "I'm a conquest now, am I? I'll have to remember that." Pulling out a handkerchief, she dabbed at his forehead a bit with it, a grin on her face.

"You were always more than that," Cameron said, wincing in a very un-Klingon-like fashion as she worked on his cut. He took her hand in his, cradled it in his palm, and brushed a thumb over hers.

Her grin softened to a light smile, remembering other times he'd caress her hands like that. "So... do you have any plans after this?"

Before Cameron could so much as come to a response, a brown/black blur of four legged motion crossed around from the opposite end of the gym area and flung itself into Tallara. Nearly knocking her completely backward, Cairo panted happily as he hopped up and started planting eager kisses on her face.

Cameron's first instinct was to laugh, then it occurred to him that he should try to pull Cairo off his former lover, and then the thought of laughing came again. The first and latter instincts won out.

Laughing heartily, Tallara couldn't help but wonder where Cairo had been hiding before he had streaked over to her. Ruffling his ears, she smiled a bright, winning smile to Cam as if to share a secret of some sort.

"For the record, after a shower I was thinking about lunch," Cameron admitted. Cairo's ears perked up at the word, having associated 'lunch' with 'food' years ago. "Care to join me?" Cameron asked.

"I'd love to." Tallara said with a wide smile. "Want me to watch Cairo while you shower?"

Cameron grinned mischievously. Despite the fact that he was sweaty and bloody, he reached and brought her in close, stroking her cheek with one hand. "Oh... I'm sure Cairo can watch himself just fine." He kissed her.

Kissing back tenderly, Tallara had to agree. Cairo could watch himself.
